Lavender can be difficult to start from seed, and should be germinated well in advance of planting season. Stratify seeds to be germinated by soaking in water in the refrigerator for 24 hours, then place seeds in a wet paper towel in a plastic bag or container in the refrigerator for another 2-3 weeks. Once growth is observed, place in a seed starter and keep moist (not wet) until leaves grow, then transfer to garden in a sunny area.
